St. Cecilia Celebrates Official Opening & Blessing

St. Cecilia Celebrates Official Opening and Blessing
Posted on 12/01/2022

This school year has not been a typical one for St. Cecilia Catholic School in Alliston. As the newest school in the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, students and staff were welcomed into their brand-new facility in September, and have already created a strong sense of community in a few short months.

On Tuesday, November 29th, students, staff, families and members of the community gathered at the school to celebrate its official opening. Bishop John Boissonneau presided over the evening, which included a solemn blessing of the entire school. It was also an opportunity to recognize the board office staff and community partners who worked tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition into the new space.

New Tecumseth Mayor Richard Norcross, local councillors, and representatives from the local MP and MPP office were also in attendance.

It was a beautiful evening filled with faith, music, celebration and recognition. We are so glad to have been able to gather together for such a wonderful evening. We look forward to all that the students and staff accomplish throughout the rest of the school year.
